ILA Seminar on Representing Australians Abroad: Lessons from Egypt and Indonesia

The International Law Association (Australian Branch) will host a seminar on "Representing Australians Abroad: Lessons from Egypt and Indonesia" on 16 September 2015 at 6.30pm at the offices of Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers.

Christopher Flynn, Partner at Gilbert +Tobin and Barrister Dr Christopher Ward will discuss issues that arise when representing Australians accused of offences committed overseas, including Journalist Peter Greste and Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

The Panel will discuss matters including the appropriate legal strategies, co-ordination with government and international law issues including trends in the application of the death penalty for drug trafficking crimes.
